This is a spear prop that I made in my freetime, which was heavily inspired by weapons from games like the lastest God of War and Shadow of Mordor/War series. This assets was made using PBR Workflow.

Topology, High and Low Poly
When it came to making the high poly model I was experimenting with manipulating edge loops in interesting ways, creating spiralling topological patterns. Along with spirals this included diagonal cuts. I seperated each section of the spear off, trying out a new pattern and joined everything together with layered rope.
Substance Painter
When the spear came into Substance Painter, I went into adding, more details, especially when it came to the blades on either end. The main base colours were two different shades of gold and a nice contrasting resd for the fabic.
Looking at how the bake came out, I noticed a flaw in my workflow is that when I make a low poly, I tend to go too low. This effects the silhouette of the overall object and effects the end result.
